Do Well and Do Good

How do we find meaning in marketing? Is it possible to do more in this industry than help companies sell stuff? Sure is. Rachel Nevers of Fortunate Consulting will explain how marketers can use our insights and knowledge about the customer to influence and improve the bigger business strategy.

TIDAL : ARTS x TECH

PRESENTED BY

We are back this year with more excitement than ever before.  New challenges, major partners, huge prizes, national attention. 2017 will be better than ever!

What is Tidal : Arts x Tech?

Tidal : Arts x Tech Challenge is ArtsWave's groundbreaking collaboration between Fifth Third Bank, Cintrifuse, and the startup community. We bring together strategists, developers, artists, marketers, and many more to solve some of the biggest challenges in the art sector over a single weekend.  It's a chance to learn, build, and make an impact on an important part of Cincinnati culture.  And, if that weren't enough, we are giving away a BIG CASH PRIZE to the winning idea to continue with the project once the weekend is over.

The Venue

Like last year, the weekend event will take place in Over-the-Rhine at Cintrifuse's Union Hall.  Union Hall is the center of the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Cincinnati.  In the venue you'll find everything you need from wicked fast wi-fi to conference rooms, creative spaces and whiteboards galore.

Working On Real Challenges

We do things a little differently in this event.  The ArtsWave team works diligently to source challenges directly from arts organizations in our community.  The reality is that you'll be working on real challenges, that will have a tremendous impact on these organizations and their future.  We make our best attempt to ensure that challenges are solvable, scalable and can be prototyped in a weekend.  Challenges will be announced soon.

The Challenges

INSTRUMENT INVENTORY MANAGEMENt

Musical organizations have large inventories of instruments that need to be managed and maintained. Could a solution be developed that helps schools and organizations better manage their instrument inventory?

COLLABORATION ACROSS THE ECOSYSTEM

Collaboration between Arts organizations is critical. Yet, it is usually slow and clunky. Could we develop a system that would make knowledge and resource sharing easy and efficient across the sector?

VIRTUAL ARTS DISCOVERY

There are several new theaters preparing to open in Over The Rhine. However, patrons have a hard time visualizing what their experience will be. Could a solution be developed that gives the patron a new way to see our theaters?

ROTTEN TOMATOES FOR THE ARTS

Recently, a movie called Get Out received the highest critic rating ever given on Rotten Tomatoes. How can we empower our Arts patrons to become critics and advocates of performances they see?

ARTS PASS GUERILLA / WOM MARKETINg

At just $75, the ArtsPass is a cost effective way to support the ecosystem while getting access to discounts, special programs and offers. Could we develop a non-traditional marketing solution to spread the word about ArtsPass among the community?

LAST-MINUTE TICKETINg

In nearly every event, show or performance - a portion of tickets go unsold. Could a single solution be developed to sell deeply discounted, last-minute tickets to performances?

While We're At It

JOIN ARTSWAVE FOR A SATURDAY NIGHT FC CINCINNATI GAME

The Schedule

6:00PM FRIDAY

SIGN IN/BEER/ WELCOME

Get here on time to drink a beer or two before we kick this thing off.

7PM Friday

CHALLENGES PRESENTED

The participating arts organizations will present their challenges to the attendees.  After challenges are presented, teams will self-organize around challenges they are inspired by if they haven't already selected a challenge.   The work begins.

9pm FRIDAY

RELOCATE

You don’t have to go home, but you have to leave Union Hall. Doors close for the night, but that doesn’t mean you have to stop working.

SATURDAY 9AM

BREAKFAST

Soak up some of the Rhinegeist you drank last night with breakfast and coffee at 8AM.  Teams will be hard at work by 9AM.  T-minus 16 hours until showtime.

11AM SATURDAY

COACHING SESSIONS

Product managers, designers, VCs, corporate executives and arts organizations representatives will be working around the venue.  If you need help or guidance - ask.  These people are experts for a reason.

6pm SAturday

FC CINCINNATI

We're bussing you over to Nippert Stadium to join us for ArtsWave day with FC Cincinnati.

9am sunday

BREAKFAST / PITCH PRACTICE

By this time, your team should be actively assembling your pitch deck.  This is IMPORTANT.  A wise man once said, a good pitch deck saves a product that doesn't work.

5pm sunday

FINAL JUDGING

A distinguished panel of judges will be making the final call on who walks away with the glory.

Let the countdown begin
